A common factor amongst all religions is the importance placed
on life cycle events. For Jews, Halacha and Jewish philosophy and culture are
intertwined intricately in the ceremonies of the human life-cycle. This section of
the Rabbi's study serves as a clearinghouse for Rabbi Schwartz's series of shiurim
on the Jewish lifecycle. The goal of the class is to see Jewish religion beyond the
text from the text, to see it as intimately tied to lives of Jews themselves.
Through examination of life events like the birth of a baby, a bris and raising
children we will continue to do what generations of Jews have done before us -
giving life, sustaining our beliefs, celebrating who we are and reminding us that
each person's life is precious.
